Report: Mendota spent $13,808 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Mendota Township High School District 280 is up 18.3 percent from five years ago, according to a Illinois Valley Times analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the La Salle County school district spent $11,671 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $13,808 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 636 to 561.

Mendota's spending in 2017-18 was 3.5 percent higher than the state average of $13,337.
