Report: South Wilmington spent $9,056 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at South Wilmington Community Consolidated School District 74 is up 14.5 percent from five years ago, according to a Illinois Valley Times analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Grundy County school district spent $7,907 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $9,056 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 104 to 87.

South Wilmington's spending in 2017-18 was 32.1 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
