Republican Karen Donnelly's election campaign committee, Friends of Karen Donnelly, spent $6,981 in the first quarter, according to committee expenditure records obtained from the Illinois State Board of Elections (ISBE).

Donnelly's committee spent the most on newspaper advertising in the quarter, with 50.5% of this total ($789) going to News Tribune in Lasalle. Table 1 below shows the distribution of how Donnelly's committee spent its money in the first quarter.
