Serena home prices rise in the second half of 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in the second half of 2017 in Serena rose by $56,850 while total sales increased by 100%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through December of 2017, there were six homes sold, with a median sale price of $193,750 - a 41.5% increase over the $136,900 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were three homes sold in Serena in the second half of 2016.

The median sales tax in Serena for 2017 was $3,610. In 2016, the median sales tax was $3,265. This marks an increase of 10.6%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 1.9%.
