Ottawa home prices fall in September 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in September 2017 in Ottawa fell by $14,500 while total sales decreased by 32.3%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In September 2017, there were 21 homes sold, with a median sale price of $104,000 - a 12.2% decrease over the $118,500 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 31 homes sold in Ottawa in September 2016.

The median sales tax in Ottawa for 2017 was $3,169. In 2016, the median sales tax was $3,043. This marks an increase of 4.1%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 3%.
