City of Ottawa issued the following announcement on Nov. 20.
Ottawa City Engineer Tom Duttlinger has advised that the outdoor track area located at the former central school site is closed to the public until monday, december 2. During that time, contractors will install a pedestrian access gate west of the current entrance. He anticipates the contractors there will have their work completed by that date and the track reopened for the public’s use.
Once the track is reopened, only pedestrian access will be allowed. No vehicles will be permitted past the entrance onto the property. He adds there is ample parking available at the west end of the upper lot on woodward memorial drive.
