CITY OF OTTAWA: Downtown Parking Enforcement to Resume May 6, 2020

Parking

City of Ottawa issued the following announcement on May 8.

Effective Wednesday, May 6th, 2020 the Ottawa Police Department will lift the moratorium on Parking enforcement.

Parking restrictions and limitations will be enforced in accordance with the Municipal Code.

This will be done so that businesses can utilize curbside pick up in compliance with the Governor’s Executive Order.

If you are a resident in the downtown area or a business owner/worker please be courteous and respectful by following the parking regulations. This will ensure that all of our merchants can open and operate in compliance with the Governor’s Executive Order.

For those businesses with cones and signs issued by the City of Ottawa for curbside pick-up those are in compliance and will not be impacted by this enforcement notice.

If you are a merchant in the downtown area and need assistance in setting up your curbside pick-up parking spot please contact City Hall (815-433-0161).

Only those issued by the City of Ottawa will be recognized as designated legally permitted parking for pick up. Therefore, business owners may not block or restrict parking on a city street on their own.
