Analysis: Peru pays $8.16 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Peru Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 89.1 percent of the $206,178 the Peru Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $8.16 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Illinois Valley Times analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Peru contributed $183,694 to the fund, which saw a $33,405 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $22,484, or 10.9 percent, in 2018.
