City of Ottawa issued the following announcement on Aug. 25.
Beginning Thursday, August 27, 2020 the westbound lane of the 100 block of West Main Street (between Columbus and Court Streets) will be closed to all traffic. City Commissioner Tom Ganiere expects the closure to begin by 7:00 a.m. and advises that section of the block will remain closed until an inspection of a recently discovered sinkhole and any needed repairs are completed.
Drivers traveling near that area are reminded to use caution and watch for workers and equipment at the site.
