Tonica Vol Fire Department responded to 31 calls in 2018 - 40.9 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Tonica Vol included 27 fires - 18 structure fires, three vehicle fires and six other fires.

In all, the department saw $109,750 in fire loss - or about $4,065 per fire.

The department also received four false calls.
