Leland Fire Protection Department responded to 19 calls in 2018 - 36.7 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Leland included 18 fires - 11 structure fires and seven other fires.

In all, the department saw $2,200 in fire loss - or about $122 per fire.

The department also received one false call.

The calls resulted in one civilian non-fire death.

The Leland Fire Protection Department had an annual budget of $224,964 in 2018.
