PRINCETON CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: Fall Family Fun Weekends & Apple Picking Season at Terhune Orchards

Princeton Chamber Of Commerce issued the following announcement on Sept. 22.

At Terhune Orchards, fall is our favorite season! We invite you to visit our farm any weekend, September 19 to November 1, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Our Fall Family Fun Weekends are full of apples, pumpkins, tons of fall fun and open fresh air. New this season: All entry to farm on Cold Soil Road on weekends, including winery and farm store, must be purchased in advance with online timed admission tickets. www.terhuneorchards.com

Visitors experience old-fashioned farm fun during our Fall Family Fun Weekends. Enjoy live music every weekend with a great roster of local bands from 12pm-4pm. Find your way out of the cornstalk maze and hay bale maze. Take a family stroll through the farm trail and sunflower trail.

Children have so much to do at Terhune Orchards! Enjoy pony rides, rubber duck races, and hippity hop corral. See their smiling faces when they visit the animals in our barnyard and have fun in the tractor play area. Be sure to explore our one-of-a-kind Adventure Barn, full of life size, interactive exhibits highlighting the life on the farm and the Garden State.

At the main farm during Fall Family Weekends, visit our Pick-Your-Own pumpkin patch to find just the right pumpkins to bring home. We have colorful pumpkins in all sizes. Free pumpkin painting with the purchase of a 5lb size pumpkin.

Get a true “taste” of the season with our freshly pressed apple cider and fresh apple cider donuts. The Fall Food tent has picnic bags ready for hungry visitors. BBQ chicken, mac & cheese, homemade soup and chili with sides – already to grab-n-go. Finish with a slice of pie or caramel apple!

Terhune Winery is open in our historic apple orchard. Plenty of open-air seating this season. General admission is required for the winery. Relax with a glass of wine, pre-poured tasting flight or wine slush. Terhune Orchards Apple Wine, made from our own apple cider, is a seasonal favorite. Light fare of cheese plates and chips & salsa bags are available. Groups and tables are limited to 6 guests and have a 2-hour time limit. Masks required until seated at table.

Before you head home, visit our farm store or tented outdoor market. The store is brimming with many varieties of apples fresh vegetables and herbs grown on the farm, as well as our famous apple cider donuts, apple cider, and an array of fresh baked goods and treats.

Admission to Fall Family Fun Weekends is $10, ages 3 and up.

*All entry to farm on Cold Soil Road, including winery and farm store, must be purchased in advance with online timed admission tickets. www.terhuneorchards.com

*Tickets are valid for 3 hours after entry to give everyone plenty of time to enjoy the farm.

*Mask are required on premise for all guests 3 year and older.

* Pumpkins, food, pony rides are not included in admission.

Pick Your Own Apples

To pick your own apples, head to our 27-acre 13 Van Kirk Road orchard from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The orchard produces 13 types of apples during the season. All of the trees are dwarf varieties—the perfect picking height for visitors of all ages. No admission ticket required for Pick Your Apple Orchard at 13 Van Kirk Rd. All guests 5 year and older pre-pay for picking bags.

Farm Store Shopping – Shopping in farm store. Open hours with no admission, Monday – Friday 9am-6pm. Saturday & Sundays, 9am-10am, 4pm-6pm on, We appreciate our loyal customers and thank you for your patience and support as we institute safe measures this season to ensure lower capacity on the farm during fall weekends

Farm Store: Mon-Thurs 9 a.m. – 6 p.m., Fri 9am-7pm, Sat. & Sun. 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Winery: Fri 12 p.m. – 7 p.m., Sat & Sun, 12 p.m. – 5 p.m.
