Republican primary challenger Jack Lombardi says his opponent, U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Rockford), is in the wrong party.

Lombardi is calling on Kinzinger to switch to the Democratic Party based on his recent admission that he no longer communicates with Republican leadership and his running war of words with House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy.

“Adam Kinzinger attacks fellow Republicans more often than the Democrats do,” Lombardi said. “Now Adam Kinzinger wants to use the sham Jan. 6th Commission to yet again slam Donald Trump and fellow Republicans. He finds nothing good to say about any Republican leader, while defending Democrats like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Enough is enough. He should just go ahead and switch parties. This is not the Adam Kinzinger that the voters of the Sixteenth District elected."

An entrepreneur and successful businessman, Lombardi insists he understands the needs of small businesses and pledges to do all he can to make sure they survive.

Born and raised on Chicago’s southwest side, where he attended St. Laurence High School and later Northwestern Business College, Lombardi is convinced in some ways Washington has lost its way.

“Jack supports smaller government that reduces federal policy interference in local matters and the functioning of business,” his website reads. “He believes excessive government involvement is a roadblock to progress.

Lombardi’s platform also includes strong borders and stricter immigration laws, a pro-life position and support for law enforcement.
