CALL TO ORDER
A meeting of the IVRD Fire & EMS Committee was held at the Oglesby Fire Department, 500 S. Columbia Ave., Oglesby, IL 61348. Chief Popurella called the meeting to order at 6:32 p.m.
ROLL CALL
Voting & Quorum Members Present:
LaSalle Fire Chief Andy Bacidore, LaSalle Firefighter Jerry Janick, Mendota Fire Chief Dennis Rutishauser, Oglesby Fire Chief Ron Popurella, Peru Assistant Fire Chief Jim Duncan, Spring Valley Fire Chief Todd Bogatitus, Utica Fire Chief Ben Brown, Peru Ambulance Director Brent Hansen
Not Present: Peru Fire Chief Jeff King, Oglesby Ambulance Director Cathie Edens, Earlville EMS Director Jessica Ramey, Earlville Fire Chief Larry Todd

MINUTES
Andy Bacidore made a motion to approve the minutes of the IVRD Fire & EMS Committee meetings of February 18, 2021. Dennis Rutishauser seconded the motion. All in favor; motion carried.

COMMUNICATIONS

OPERATIONAL MATTERS
Jo Ellen Fisher Report:
1. Andy Bacidore informed the board that Jerry Janick will be taking over as LaSalle fire chief on May 3rd. Lots of thanks from Andy for the years of service on calls. He will be retiring with 38 years total, 24 years as chief.
2. Discussion on what to call full still or general. It was decided that we would come back to the next meeting and have a decision made then.
3. Discussed the patch and the issues with the patch.
4. Discussed the TC’s logging times and information.
5. Chief Bogititus talked about how he likes the improved communication.
6. Chief Bogititus talked about severe weather. It was decided that if weather spotters were needed that each agency would request it on their own.
7. “All clear tone” discussed for when the TC’s are busy or when we have multiple agencies responding that they would hit the tone and then make an announcement.
8. Discussed how the fireground channels do not always work. Just switch back to the main channel if needed.
9. Discussion on Mendota life safety code issues.
10. Discussed when to page full still pages – smell of smoke, sight of smoke, sight of flames.

Ron Popurella made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Andy Bacidore seconded the motion. All in favor; motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 7:50 p.m.
