Report: Spring Valley School District spent $9,819 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Spring Valley Community Consolidated School District 99 was up 23 percent from five years ago, according to the Illinois Valley Times analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Bureau County school district spent $7,983 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $9,819 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 705 to 647 students over the same period.

Spring Valley's spending in 2019-20 was 32.2 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
