Report: Leland School District spent $13,608 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Leland Community Unit School District 1 was up 17.8 percent from five years ago, according to the Illinois Valley Times analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the La Salle County school district spent $11,547 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $13,608 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 267 to 261 students over the same period.

Leland's spending in 2019-20 was 6.1 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
