Illinois Sen. Sue Rezin recently traveled to the University of Chicago to participate in a panel discussion on politics and energy.
Other participants in the panel included Christian Mitchell, Delmar Gillus, Jr., and Pat Devaney, Rezin said in a Twitter post.
"On my way to Chicago to participate in a @UChiPolitics' panel discussion with @cljmitchell, @vumilio, and Pat Devaney about last year's energy legislation and what it means for Illinois' energy future," Rezin said in the tweet.
The University of Chicago Instutute of Politics also tweeted about the event.
"Climate week at the IOP starts TODAY at 5:30 pm with a discussion on Illinois' new climate law and our state's future. Featuring @cljmitchell, @SueRezin, @vumilio, and Pat Devaney (AFL-CIO IL). RSVP here: http://bit.ly/IOP0418 and livestream here: http://bit.ly/0418live."
Among the topics discussed, Sen. Rezin spoke of the work she did last year to keep Illinois' nuclear power plants open during the panel discussion.
Rezin celebrated the signing of a bill last September that made sure Illinois' nuclear plants remained operational, Grundy Reporter reported.
"It's official," Rezin said in a Facebook post. "This morning the Governor signed Senate Bill 2408, which ensures that our state's nuclear fleet stay online and preserves thousands of jobs that they provide to our local communities!"
