City of Peru Fire and Police Committee met Oct. 24.

ROLL CALL: Aldermen Buffo, Edgcomb and Tieman present; Mayor Kolowski present.
OTHER PERSONS PRESENT: Aldermen Waldorf, Lukosus, Sapienza, Payton and Ballard
PUBLIC COMMENT
MINUTES
Alderman Buffo made a motion to approve the Police and Fire Committee Minutes of October 10, 2022. Mayor Kolowski seconded the motion; motion carried.
OLD BUSINESS
Fire Chief Jeff King reported offer was extended and accepted from Candidate #1 and he has completed the physical.
Police Chief Bob Pyszka reported the city did not qualify for the squad cars that were ordered last year. Chief Pyszka noted the possibility of greater repair costs to maintain the fleet. Chief Pyszka reported on a plan to replace high mileage administrative vehicles (CSO) with a trade in for a pickup truck.

CLOSED SESSION
Alderman Buffo made a motion to go into closed session to discuss the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employees of the public body or legal counsel for the public body, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee or legal counsel for the public body to determine its validity. Alderman Tieman seconded the motion. Clerk Bartley called the roll with Aldermen Buffo, Edgcomb, Tieman and Mayor Kolowski voting aye; motion carried.
Closed session began at 5:39 p.m.; ended 6:29 p.m.
Alderman Buffo made a motion to re-open the meeting. Mayor Kolowski seconded the motion. Clerk Bartley called the roll with Aldermen Buffo, Edgcomb, Tieman and Mayor Kolowski present.
ADJOURNMENT
Alderman Buffo made a motion to adjourn. Alderman Edgcomb seconded the motion. Meeting adjourned at 6:30 p.m.
