City of Peru Fire and Police Committee met Nov. 7.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

ROLL CALL: Aldermen Buffo, Edgcomb and Tieman present; Mayor Kolowski present.

OTHER PERSONS PRESENT: Aldermen Waldorf, Lukosus, Sapienza, Payton and Ballard

PUBLIC COMMENT

MINUTES

Alderman Buffo made a motion to approve the Police and Fire Committee Minutes of October 24, 2022. Mayor Kolowski seconded the motion; motion carried.

OLD BUSINESS

Fire Chief Jeff King reported new engineer firefighter, Ryan Frank, is onboard and currently in training.

Deputy Police Chief Sarah Raymond reported they received the final six flock cameras and they are scheduled to be installed soon.

Deputy Police Chief Sarah Raymond reported on the aging detective vehicle and CSO Expedition and recommended the purchase of a 2021 Ford F150 in the amount of $34,839 from Illinois Valley Auto Group. (Price includes the trade of 2013 Ford Explorer for $4,000 and 2010 Ford Expedition for $6,000).

Deputy Police Chief Sarah Raymond reported on the desire of MTU (Mobile Training Unit) to partner up with the PD location to house a part-time person to coordinate in-house trainings. Deputy Chief Raymond stated there would be a monthly fee of $500 for services rendered.

Deputy Police Chief Sarah Raymond reported the part-time to full-time memorandum of agreement on the regular agenda.

Alderman Edgcomb made a motion to adjourn. Mayor Kolowski seconded the motion. Meeting adjourned at 5:40 p.m.
