Moved by Alderman Reynolds and seconded by Alderman Herndon to approve the minutes from January 23, 2023.
The request for a “No Parking from Here to Alley” sign at 437 Bucklin Street was discussed.
Bill Burkart, resident who has two properties adjacent to 437 Bucklin St. He has not had any issues in the past with this. He pointed out that the resident of 437 Bucklin had a visitor over the weekend, and they parked in front of 437. His concern is if the sign was up that is being requested, then the visitors may be then parking in front of his two properties. Burkart is not in favor of the “No Parking” sign.
Deputy Clerk Bader mentioned that he did speak with the residents and the request was right when the garbage service started. He asked them to give it a few weeks and revisit if there was an issue. They were also invited to attend the meeting tonight to discuss.
Alderman Bacidore mentioned that he drives past this property often and has not seen anyone even park there. He did not see any vehicles in front of this home so he is unsure as to the request.
Moved by Alderman Ptak and seconded by Alderman Lavieri to deny the request for a “No Parking from Here to Alley” sign at 437 Bucklin Street.

Alderman Bacidore began the discussion of the request for a handicapped parking space sign at 145 9th St.
Jason Darnell, resident at 145 9th St, is the one requesting this sign. He does have a handicap placard. His son has autism and Darnell has had to restrain his son occasionally while trying to get him into the house. Darnell would prefer the sign to be put on the property line. The committee had Google Maps open to try to help and pick an appropriate spot for the sign. Crane suggested pushing it back a bit to the east of the property line, so the neighbor still had room to pull up and have access to their sidewalk.
Moved by Alderman Herndon and seconded by Alderman Reynolds to approve the request for a handicapped parking space sign at 145 9th St.
