ROLL CALL

AYE: Chairman Ptak, Aldermen Bacidore, Thompson, Reynolds, Lavieri, Jeppson, Herndon, Crane

NAY: Nay

ABSENT: None Abstain: None

MOTION CARRIED: 8-0

Alderman Lavieri had a question regarding a bill from Chamlin & Associates for $715 for Rockwell Bridge Closure and asked if it was closed. City Engineer Brian Brown said that it has been closed and the City followed the requirements to close the roadway.

Engineer Brown said Illinois Cement is constructing a new roadway off Route 6 for their employees. Alderman Crane asked if we must close the bridge and Alderman Lavieri asked who owns the bridge if it were to fall. Engineer Brown said we don’t have to dismantle the bridge and the City of La Salle still owns the bridge. He said there is no requirement to demolish the bridge. Brown said there is a hubcap hole in the bridge and Alderman Crane asked to put something down to cover it incase there was foot traffic.

Brown said the City applied for a bridge grant but the cost was roughly $1.9 million to replace. The City applied for the grant as the municipality, but Illinois Cement would have to pay the cost as the bridge only services them. They did not move forward with that cost.

There were no more questions or comments from the public.

Moved by Alderman Thompson and seconded by Alderman Reynolds to adjourn the meeting.

Voice vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

Chairman Ptak adjourned the meeting at 6:08pm
