City of Ottawa City Council met Aug. 15.

Commissioner Eichelkraut presented minutes of previous meeting.
Moved by Commissioner Eichelkraut that the minutes of a regular meeting of the Council of the City of Ottawa, Illinois, held on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, be approved as recorded in the permanent files of the City Clerk.

Mayor Hasty swore in the Ottawa Police Department’s new therapy dog, Rookie Brewer. A check presentation to the Police Benevolent & Protective Association in the amount of $132.00 was made with coins from the fountain in Washington Park and was matched by our local AFSMCE union. The checks will go towards the back to school shop with a cop program.
Commissioner Eichelkraut presented Biweekly Salary Payroll.
Moved by Commissioner Eichelkraut that the Biweekly Salary Payroll of August 4, 2023, in the amount of $568,064.47, be approved and warrants issued.
