DISCUSSION AND POTENTIAL ACTION ON THE FOLLOWING PETITIONS:

Request from Chaos and Curiosities to install a single-facing, banner sign at 524 1st Street and related matters.

Request from Lighted Way on behalf of GOTA International Daycare, proposed buyer of 916 6th Street, for a Special Use Permit to operate at daycare at aforementioned address and any potential text amendment related thereto and related matters.

Request from Grueny’s Detailing and Powder Coating for use of City-owned property and a street closure of 27th Street from St. Vincent Avenue to Hennepin Street from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, September 7, 2024 for a car show and related matters.

Request from the La Salle Business Association for a Special Event Permit to allow an extension of hours for outdoor music, increase of allowed decibel readings, use of City owned property and street closure of portions First Street from Wright Street to Marquette Street at various times the week of September 9, 2024 for the organization’s BBQ & Blues and Jazz’n the Street on dates events and related matters.

Request from the City of La Salle Foundation for a Special Event Permit to allow the use of City-owned property at the Pocket Park on First Street from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, September 28, 2024 for the organization’s Quiet Fest event and related matters.

Treasurer’s Report for July 2024 showing total cash balances in La Salle State Bank of $9,205,174.83 and in Hometown National Bank of $8,024,103.63.

Building Inspector’s Report for July 2024 showing total fees collected of $11,142.23 with total value of construction of $2,110,810.45.

COMMUNICATIONS

Illinois Department of Revenue report showing sales tax collected for May 2024 of $100,587.78 and Home Rule Sales Tax of $89,318.95 for a total of $189,906.73.

Discussion and potential action regarding the recommendation of the Finance Committee regarding annual renewal of membership with Illinois Valley Chamber of Commerce and related matters.

OLD BUSINESS

Confirmation and ratification of a straw vote regarding a request from Ax Church for a street closure from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, August 18, 2024 for outdoor church event and activities for Church’s kids ministry and related matters.

Discussion and potential action regarding seeking a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the old City of La Salle Public Works Building at 500 2nd Street and related matters.

NEW BUSINESS

Discussion and potential action on providing notice of cancellation of agreement with Paramedic Services of Illinois, Inc. regarding the providing of supplemental paramedic personnel and related matters.

Discussion and potential action regarding providing authorization to commence formal negotiations with Stark County Ambulance regarding the providing of supplemental paramedic personnel and related matters.

DISCUSSION AND POTENTIAL ACTION ON REMOVING FROM THE TABLE, PLACING ON THE FLOOR, AND TAKING POTENTIAL ACTION ON ANY OF THE FOLLOWING POTENTIAL ORDINANCES AND/OR ANY REVISIONS THEREOF

An Ordinance amending the La Salle City Code to further regulate and provide for Rules of Conduct for City Buildings and City Real Estate.

An Ordinance amending the La Salle City Code Provisions, including but not limited to, Ordinance Number 3032, further amending rules concerning regulation of Public Comment and related matters.

DISCUSSION AND POTENTIAL ACTION ON THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION

Resolution further formalizing authorization to acquire fire truck, financing related thereto, and related matters.

EXECUTIVE SESSION 

Regarding pending and/or potentially imminent litigation and related matters: Collective bargaining and related matters, and acquisition and/or sale of city real estate and related matters and the employment, discipline, appointment, performance and/or compensation of non-union and/or union personnel and related matters pursuant to the Open Meetings Act including 5-ILCS 120 Section 2(c)1-2,5,6,11 thereof.
