City of LaSalle Finance Committee met Sept. 29

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

CALL TO ORDER

Chairman Ptak called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

ROLL CALL

Present: Chairman Ptak, Aldermen Demes, Thompson, Reynolds, Lavieri, Jeppson, Herndon, and Crane

Others Present: Deputy Clerk Brent Bader, Finance Director John Duncan, Economic Development Director Curt Bedei, Fire Chief Jerry Janick

A quorum was present.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Moved by Alderman Reynolds and seconded by Alderman Thompson to approve the minutes of the Finance Committee meeting from the September 15, 2025, meeting.

Voice vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

Chairman Ptak asked if there were any questions on the bills.

Alderman Lavieri requested clarification on the bill for $42,960 for sludge hauling and was informed it relates to the temporary hauling of sledge from the Route 6 bridge project.

COMMENTS

Finance Director John Duncan reminded everyone that the tax levy review will occur between now and year end, probably in November, along with health insurance, property liability, and workers’ compensation renewals.

Alderman Lavieri asked about reviewing the water and sewer rates. Duncan advised him that is typically done in February and could be reviewed once the tax levy is determined and three- and five-year budget forecasts are being reviewed.

ADJOURNMENT

Moved by Alderman Reynolds and seconded by Alderman Thompson to adjourn the meeting.

Voice vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

Chairman Ptak adjourned the meeting at 6:03 p.m.
